Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell said: “At this early s***e in the investigation, we believe several male suspects ran out of Vicar’s Road and chased the victim down Grafton Road before fatally attacking him.
They have then run back into Vicar’s Road and got into a car, which drove off in the direction of Weedington Road."
His grief-stricken uncle Jean said on Tuesday: “These knives are out of hand. It’s not gangs, it’s just young people hanging around.”
As devastated family members gathered, Mr Bungisa, who had three brothers and two sisters, was remembered as a “beautiful" young man "with a good heart" and "from a good family”.
His uncle, a bus driver, told the Evening Standard: “He was full of life, he was very popular with everyone.
"He always had a smile on his face. He loved his family so much.
"His father died a year ago almost to the day."
